Rescue Fish is an alternative to the depletion caused by the existing Quota Management System. It is an innovative policy that requires law reform, prioritising marine ecosystem function and the benefits that comes from having a healthy marine environment. Fish stocks need to be rebuilt and inshore waters need to be protected from trawling and dredging, to enable ecosystems to recover. Abundant inshore fish stocks will provide a range of social and cultural benefits and opportunities for jobs, regional development, and will reconnect people with the sea around them.
